Top 10 cars at the New York auto show;;;;2

Jaguar XF
Jaguar energised its mid-size XF sedan, lavishing on it the aluminium-intensive trickery employed for the smaller, all-new XE sedan. For what amounts to a deep-tissue refresh, the XF looks very competitive indeed.
In North America, you can have the XF with any kind of powertrain you want, provided it is a supercharged 3-litre gasoline V6 mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. (Diesel engines are available in Europe.) The choices are between a 340-horsepower version and a 380hp specification. Rear-drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available at either output level.
Meridian provides the aural entertainment when the engine's soundtrack isn't enough – which should be exceedingly rare. (Credit: Jeff Jablansky)
