revealing that 100 percent of French women reported being harassed on
public transportation. An ad
campaign will warn of potential prison
sentences while encouraging bystanders to intervene. And a new emergency
number, 3117, will enable the reporting of such behavior. The push,
underway this autumn, will be bolstered by women identifying Metro areas
where they feel the least safe.
