The 2015
edition of reality TV show, Big Brother Africa (BBA) has been cancelled
following the inability of the hosts, Africa Magic and Endemol to get
sponsors.
The development was exclusively disclosed to Razz Newspaper, during a chat with Anne Sackey, the Manager of Multi Choice Ghana.
According to Sackey, the Multi Choice Ghana got a notice from MNET that there would be no 2015 edition of the reality show.
Although she revealed that MNET failed
to give them reasons for the decision, she was of the opinion that it
would be related to lack of sponsorship.
She said, “They didn’t give us any
reason though, but I think it’s mainly because of cash constraints as we
all know the show is very expensive to put up”.
“They don’t have fix sponsors on the
show. Every year the sponsor changes, sometimes it’s CocaCola,
sometimes MTN and other companies from Ghana have sponsored before.”
However, she declined to make further
statement on the authenticity of the claims, maintaining that MNET is a
separate company and that they have their target and strategies so until
they write to them.
