- McLaren 570S

The 570S
represents the first of McLaren’s new Sports Series of cars, which are
meant to complement the company's existing Super Series (650S, 670LT)
and Ultimate Series (P1) models.
Indeed, the 570S is a 563hp super sports car that sprints to 62mph (100km/h) in just 3.2 seconds using the company's twin-turbo 3.8-litre V8 engine. That power plant has been reworked, and is said to contain 30% new parts.
The 570S shrinks McLaren's rakish form language down to its smallest dimensions yet. Bodywork stretches over the running gear and cockpit, with flying buttresses contributing both visual drama and aerodynamic downforce at high speeds. That's important in a car that tops out at 204mph.
In the interest of simplicity, the 570S drives rear wheels only through its seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, delivering drivers the purity of rear drive rather than the increasingly fashionable all-wheel drive. The implicit weight savings contributes to the 570S achieving 25.5mpg on the EU's combined driving cycle, which sets the car up well to avoid the US gas-guzzler tax. (Credit: Newspress)
