Safety should be high on your wedding priority list

Wedding
One of the most important responsibilities of every prospective couple on their wedding day is to ensure that every guest who attends their beautiful occasion feels safe while the event lasts. Your wedding is a big deal and therefore you need all the necessary safety measures to avoid health and safety hazards so that you and your guests are safe and comfortable too.
Safety starts from you

Whether you have a wedding planner or not, you have a duty to set your safety standard in advance and work out ways to achieving them. From the venue managers to the vendors, everyone involved in your wedding must understand your safety measures and be committed too. Making the right decision from the start is critical as this will ensure proper compliance and minimise certain risks.
  • Venue: Choosing the right venue which conforms with good safety standard must not be compromised even if the venue is very cheap. It plays a big role in your wedding details and you and your guests will be spending many hours at the venue, therefore it is important that you look at a few venues and compare their safety standards before making up your mind. A small mistake or ignorance of your venue or a vendor can shut a beautiful wedding setting down; so it is not an option but a must to ensure that the right people take charge while you both sit back and enjoy every moment.
  • Food: To ensure the hygiene and safety of food to be served at your wedding, dedicate a few trusted aunties to inspect the food before serving and ensure that all your caterers obey your safety measures and that of the venue.
  • Wow factors: You must have a good understanding of the various creative factors your vendors plan to explore so that they do not go over and above your set standard. An idea can be beautiful to behold but may not conform with safety, your decorator must have a good knowledge of how to apply safety in creativity. A small mistake or ignorance from your venue or a vendor can shut down a beautiful wedding setting; so it is not an option but your obligation to get the right hands for the job.
  • Firework displays: The safety of your wedding guests is important, firework is a big responsibility in itself, if you truly want your guests to take the memories away, choose a display that is suitable for your style of wedding and get the professionals who will make the display more spectacular and befitting on your special occasion.
  • First aid: Safety of guests within the venue is highly important; it is essential to have a first aid box handy which can be entrusted to either a guest with medical experience or a qualified first aider within the venue. Do not wait until an accident happens; it is important that you put everything in place to keep them safe and ready for use.
Notes
  • Safety is everyone’s responsibility but unfortunately many stakeholders in our industries have undermined the standard and it is business as usual.
  • Although it may be completely impossible to control every aspect of your wedding, you can minimise your risk significantly if you put the necessary measures in place.
  • You must also be prepared for the inevitable which may or may not happen; ensure that you put adequate measures in place to minimise the risks…
