Buhari WANTS To EXCLUDE Some Areas Of Nigeria From Development

This is a comment on the viral video that shows Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari suggesting that he would treat the areas that voted for him by 97% better than he will those that voted 5% for him. “Going by election results, constituencies that gave me 97% can not in all honesty be treated, on some issues, with constituencies that gave me 5%. I think these are political realities. While, certainly there will be justice for everybody but the people who voted, and made their votes count, they must feel the government has appreciated the effort they put in putting the government in place. I think this is really fair.” – President Buhari in Washington DC

Some Nigerians are strange in their reasoning. They argue that if someone listens to the end of Buharis answer he would have a different conclusion. No that’s not the case.

Even when you listen to all Buhari said together one point stares you in the face: he WANTS TO EXCLUDE some areas that didn’t give him much votes (like the Niger Delta on which the question was focused).

These were Buhari’s clear unambiguous words. He showed his mindset. He WANTS to exclude them and will exclude them where he can. He has already started if you go by his appointments. Where he can he will also thwart the constitution to achieve this because he doesn’t like the constitutional restrictions. Its about what he WANTS.

Buhari wants to favour the areas that gave him 97% of votes above the areas that gave him “just 5%”. I guess you know those areas. wpaper

Now check his appointments so far. Note that he didn’t say he will favour individuals that worked for his victory. No. He said he will favour REGIONS that voted for him. Now that’s the difference.

You can choose party members from all over the country but when you begin to discriminate against SOME REGIONS and AREAS then you are in breach of moral and constitutional foundations.
