Desmond Elliot, Lai Mohammed’s son, others win Lagos Assembly polls

Nollywood star, Desmond Elliot, of the All Progressives Congress (APC), yesterday won the Surulere state constituency (l), polling 23,141 votes to emerge winner.
He defeated Mr Bayo Smith, of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who came second with 12,546 votes.

The results were announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer, Dr Mariam Quadri.
Also, Folajimi Mohammed, the son to Lai Mohammed, the national publicity secretary of the APC, won the election at Ikeja constituency (2), where he polled 13,602 votes.
Meanwhile, Olayinka Ajomale, the son to Henry Ajomale, the state chairman of the APC, lost to Emeka Idimogu of the PDP.
Idimogu polled 27,423 votes, defeating Ajomale who polled 25, 727 votes.
In the same vein, the Lagos deputy speaker, Kolawole Taiwo, representing Ajeromi\Ifelodun, and has been a member of the state assembly since 1999 lost to the candidate of the PDP, Oluwa Olatunji Fatai.
