45-year-old Olusanya Ajala, is in trouble for
allegedly selling off his late father’s house to two different buyers,
thereby denying his three siblings access to their father’s property.
The prodigal son reportedly sold the building which
comprises eight rooms and three boys’ quarters, located on Ajala Close
in the Ijaiye area of Lagos, to a businesswoman, Anita Ojuola, and
another buyer whose name was yet to be ascertained, without the consent
of his siblings, all women
.
It was gathered that Ojuola had indicated interest in
buying the property after an estate agent introduced her to Ajala and
she paid the sum of N3.5m.
She later paid the sum of N1m into a bank account
provided by Ajala on March 9, 2015, with a promise to pay the balance
towards the end of April. She was issued a power of attorney to the
property by the seller but it later turned out it was forged.
But trouble however started when Ajala became evasive
and refused to meet the woman who had demanded to meet with his sisters
before she would pay the N2.5m balance.
When she eventually tracked him down a month later,
she discovered that Ajala and his sisters, had sold the same house to
another buyer who had started renovation works on the building.
Upon the discovery, the matter was reported at the Ijaiye-Ojokoro Police Station, leading to Ajala’s arrest.
